DESCRIPTION:There is no agreed method for measuring Environment\, Social\, Governance (ESG) credentials in agriculture and food. How can we address this?\n\nPlease register here to join this event.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOmniAction gathers experts from within its community to discuss the terrible risk that business and finace currently faces – and to explore how OmniAction might support efforts to address this. \nAccording to FAIRR: \n\n50% of the largest protein producer companies rank as High Risk\, signalling chronic underreporting and poor management of major risk themes\n70% of total sector emissions – typically within Scope 3 – remain largely untargeted for reductions. Only 18% of companies set a Scope 3 target.\n60% of companies are yet to set targets for Scope 1 and 2.\n82% of companies that produce meat and dairy do not disclose how they address water scarcity risks in feed farming.\nNo beef producer in Brazil can trace the entire life cycle of its sourced cattle\, with current monitoring systems missing an estimated 85-90% of deforestation.\n\nJoin our panelists: \n\nCatherine Chong\, ESG and sustainability advisor\nSarah Blanchard\, head of ESG at Prof. Consulting Group and a consultant for International Finance Corporation\nHelena Wright\, Policy Director at FAIRR\n\n+ more \nWe’ll be seeking to update our Charter of Global Food Impacts with the insights gathered.

This science-based\, verified and independent framework will be made available as a public good to all actors across global agrifood. \nIt’s a unified repository for data collection and analysis\, monitoring all relevant human rights impacts of the food system. Namely across: nutrition\, food safety\, environmental impact\, land sovereignty and labour rights. \nIt will oversee independent monitoring and verification. Future uses of the framework are expected to include benchmarking\, integration into policy-driven data collection\, and a consumer-facing front of pack label\, an Omnilabel. \nOmniAction began as a campaign by food systems B2B title Quota.Media in connection to the UN Food Systems Summit.
